Our Roles and Responsibilities;

Mandate

The Board’s primary responsibility is to prudently manage extension services for farmers, with the aim of developing, growing, and regulating the rubber industry in Papua New Guinea.

Mission

Our mission is to promote the rubber industry's growth through innovation, investment and collaboration. We aim to benefit farmers and boost economic prosperity by enhancing productive and value addition. Our is a competitive, sustainable rubber industry with strong institutional capacity.

Vision

Our vision is to cultivate a globally competitive and sustainable rubber industry that benefits farmers and fuels economic prosperity for our country.

Committed to improve people's experiences with government services. This means putting people first and improving skills both within and outside the government to deliver these services.

Rubber Industry Development Board Structure

Executive

Provides strategic leadership, advice, and directives to the Directors or Executive Management team of the Board for the operational efficiency of the Board and ensures policy is given due consideration

Corporate

Providing timely advice and support on corporate affairs matters on financial, human resource, and general administration and ensuring coordination of critical support systems and resources

Operations

Oversee the field operational matters of the Board in respect of the plan, organization, direction, control and evaluation of the performance of field operations of the Board throughout the country.

Legislation

Introduce the Rubber Industry Development Act to repeal and replace Rubber Act 1953

Rehabilitation

Revive, upgrade and mantain the old rubber plantations in Papua New Guinea

Production

Establish Veneer Mill to process veneer words or for paper production as alternative revenue sources for the farmers

Investment

Liaise with lead state agencies and develop work plan to attract investment and partnership in large scale rubber farming

Downstream

Liaise with lead state agencies and develop work plans to attract investment and partnership in midstream (processing factories) and downstream investments.

Market

Establish market research and development position in the Board and task the incumbent to research market and product development opportunities.

RIDB

Promotes effective research and delivers effective extension services in the upstream and midstream value chains of rubber products.
